The Future of Outside Broadcasting - 45 minutes

The spectrum of live events covered by broadcasters, and how they are covered, is rapidly widening – from contribution of news and interviews over Wi-Fi, to premium sports events in Ultra High Definition over a dedicated fibre network. We discuss the way networks will carry higher file size content, the use of satellite and the internet, and what this divergence means for broadcasters and audiences of all sizes, focusing on the higher end of the spectrum and the increasing use of uncompressed contribution.

Panel speakers include:

Graham Warren – Director of Network, Eurovision
Ian Wallace – Senior Broadcast Design Engineer, BT Technology, Service & Operations

Coffee and light breakfast will be provided as part of the session.

The uptake of Ultra High Definition, transport of uncompressed video, and the sheer amount of content being produced – not to mention the need to do more with less – are driving the need for reliable, flexible connectivity. Panel speakers include:
John Ellerton – Head of Media Futures, BT Media & Broadcast
