We move up to 16,000 hours of content a day through BT Tower, serving over 500 media production and distribution customers around the world. As well as being the backbone of all UK TV services we distribute TV channels for companies such as NBC Universal and Viacom. And we link the global production community, from Soho, to Bollywood, to Hollywood and beyond.

At BT Media and Broadcast, Mark runs a Global team of sales, product and marketing professionals, who are responsible for creating and taking BT’s media solutions portfolio to clients. He is focused on ensuring that his team are able to identify client needs through detailed analysis of their business and to advise specific courses of action to improve their commercial performance. Mark is also personally responsible for some of BT Media & Broadcast’s major strategic client opportunities.
Mark joined BT Media and Broadcast in mid-2006, keen to build on his experience of delivering the best possible client solutions with an organization at the forefront of a rapidly changing sector. Mark initially joined BT after leaving education, and over the next 21 years worked in a wide range of sales and customer-focused roles, developing an instinctive talent for getting to the heart of a customer’s business, its challenges and its drivers. Between 2000 and 2003, Mark was a board member at leading learning solutions company, Acadamee. Here, Mark designed and delivered learning and development programmes for some of the world’s biggest corporate brands. He has broad international experience with extended periods working in the USA, Asia and Africa.
Mark is married with three children and is a big believer in work-life balance. He spends as much of his spare time as possible surfing in places as diverse as Devon in the UK to Bali in Indonesia, and if he were not delivering ideas for continual business improvement to clients, Mark would be running a surf shop with café on a sunny beach somewhere.
Global Sales Director
Jonathan joined BT Media and Broadcast in 2002 after managing BT’s interests in the satellite consortia, and previously managing the Outside Broadcast Operations. Jonathan is committed to bringing change to the broadcast and media sector addressed by BT.
At BT Media and Broadcast, Jonathan runs a Global team of sales professionals who are responsible for creating and taking BT’s media solutions portfolio to clients. He is focused on driving new business and partner relations across an ever changing Media landscape. Jonathan personally leads the Customer Satisfaction programme for Media and Broadcast, as well as leading major strategic client opportunities.
Jonathan graduated from Exeter University with an Honours degree in Physics, and spent his first four years post graduate designing surveillance equipment for Military use. He then joined BT in 1988 and managed BT’s satellite Outside Broadcast group, travelling around the world supporting live news and sports feeds for major broadcasters. He then joined the group in BT responsible for managing BT’s interests in the Satellite Consortia (principally Intelsat), and became BT’s Board representative for Intelsat on the Technical and Planning Committee – which he later chaired between 1997-1999. Jonathan then joined BT Media and Broadcast in 2002 and managed the Business Development activity, before moving into direct sales.
Jonathan is married with two children and is a big believer in work-life balance. He also has professional football coaching qualifications, and is an active football referee, and a member of the MCC. Jonathan enjoys travelling to different parts of world and experiencing different cultures.
Head of Media Sales
Paul leads a sales team responsible for providing Broadcast and Media solutions to many of our major customers. He has personally been responsible for leading sales for many major new contracts.
He has extensive Leadership and Sales experience in Media & Telecoms. Paul first became involved with Media in the mid 90’s with the Interactive TV and Westminster Video on Demand services which were the forerunners to Sky Digital and BT Vision. He followed this leading a Sales & Business development team selling Digital Media services such as Business TV and Digital Screen media to corporate customers. Over recent years, he has been responsible for leading Sales & Business Development teams covering Broadcast Networks, Digital Media, Telecom services, Phone and Competition voting services (Agile Media) and Managed Services.
Paul is focused on helping clients, colleagues and other stakeholders produce a great outcome for all. He is particularly keen on establishing the objectives and making sure that the analysis, planning and execution come together through teamwork and great engagement.
Paul is passionate about learning. He has a Marketing Diploma, HNC and Degree in Business and MBA in Business from Imperial College. He has been through many Sales, leadership and business courses. He enjoys learning from others and will happily share his knowledge. He is also keen on psychology and NLP to ensure learning translates into action and continuous improvement.
Paul is married and has a variety of interests including Music, films, restaurants, socialising, golf, snowboarding and travelling.
Head of Sales – Asia Pac
Sanjay joined BT Media and Broadcast team at New Delhi in November 2003 with the mandate to build the M&B’s business in rapidly changing market dynamics. The task was not only to build the business from scratch but also build the customer confidence in the region on BTs Media and Broadcast Portfolio.
Sanjay leads the team of highly skilled sales professionals in the region to help his media customers grow their business across the globe. He has also lead to expand the Global Media Network to key locations across the Globe.
An electronics and communication Engineering Graduate from NIT Warangal (India), Sanjay has 20 years’ experience in Media and Entertainment Industry.
Head of Sales - North America
Ted joined BT Media & Broadcast in October 2016, as our Head of Sales for North America. He has a strong history of sales in the broadcast and video industry and has over 20 years experience selling technology solutions. His key focus is to drive new business and strengthen relationships with existing customers in the region.
Ted began his career working for a system integration firm, selling services and establishing the company presence. As his passion for broadcast and technology grew, he worked for other broadcast and content solution companies. Most recently Ted worked for Globecast, where he provided broadcasters with managed master control services along with satellite and terrestrial distribution services.
Outside of work, Ted enjoys mountain biking, hiking and generally making the most of the beautiful Californian weather.
Head of Broadcast Technology & Solutions
Chris Ainger joined BT Media and Broadcast from Marconi in 2002 and has been creating network solutions for the media industry for 12 years. His initial role was as a design engineer building SDH and ATM-based broadcast networks, and he is proud to have been part of the Media & Broadcast team that has led the transition of broadcast transmission from those technologies into the MPLS-IP world.
Now heading up a team of consultants providing leadership and world class technology solutions to the global media industry, Chris’ focus is on driving forward the technology and ensuring that BT Media & Broadcast continues its longstanding history of innovation at the forefront of media solutions.
Head of Media Futures
John is Head of Media Futures at BT Media and Broadcast. An alumni of Salford University in the UK and École Centrale de Lyon in France, he has since gained over 18 years’ experience creating specialist network and workflow solutions for broadcasters and media companies worldwide.
John now leads BT Media & Broadcast’s future thinking in broadcast and media services, which includes next-generation networks and cloud-based production services as well as UHDTV. He represents BT Media & Broadcast at SMPTE and is an active contributor to the work of the EBU.
Lead Propositions Manager
Alison is a product professional with over 20 years’ experience within the Telecommunications industry. She joined BT Media and Broadcast, at the beginning of 2013, to lead the development of propositions for the broadcast industry. Specifically around digital workflow “BT Nexus” and beyond HD with UltraHD. Alison’s accomplishments include leading the delivery of an UltraHD TV trial and subsequent demonstration at the IBC exhibition in Amsterdam. A subsequent demonstration was shown at NAB 2014 where BT delivered a real-time encoded UHD/HD simulcast from BT Tower to the USA.
Alison’s background is in Multimedia and whilst working at BT Laboratories was seconded to “BIB…” the consortium between BT, BskyB, Panasonic and HSBC which developed the Video-on demand and interactive TV concepts that later went on to become Sky Interactive. More recently she was Director of Telepresence products for BT Conferencing.
Felicity has only recently joined BT Media and Broadcast, but brings a wealth of experience from her previous marketing roles within the wider BT Wholesale business. She joined BT in 1999 and has spent most of her career working in Sales, Industry Engagement and Marketing. During this time, she has looked after a number of strategic customers, brought new products to market and delivered numerous successful sales campaigns.
She is married with two young children and lives on the South Coast. Outside of work, she takes part in a number of competitive sports including running, football and tennis, plus enjoys the simple things in life like spending quality time with family and friends, and walking the dog.
